June 1611

In 1610 England hired Henry Hudson to find the Northwest Passage.  Henry sailed on a ship called the Discovery .  He was sure he had found the Northwest passage when he discovered a 450 mile long passage way .  Henry kept searching for a water route to the Pacific Ocean .  When winter came the bay he was in froze over .  Him and his crew  spent a long winter in a log hut .  In 1611 when the  weather warm , Henry set sail .   His crew  thought he was sailing  back home  ,  but no he was sailing west to continue  searching for the Northwest passage .  Wanting to go home Henry’s angry crew put Henry , his son, and seven other crew men in a  small boat with no oars and left him in the bay .   Henry Hudson and the others were never  heard from again .  I think Henry and the others may have died from starvation because he had no supplies nothing to warm them self .  Him and the others probably lasted for a few days , but not for a week .  I think that ‘s what happened to Henry Hudson .
